Everyone already knows about the global march backwards through the Enlightenment and into a new era of Feudal-Fascism so, instead of talking about that, here is a list of good things that happened this week, for future me to relish when looking back on the cadaver scattered wasteland of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quiet drink at Blondie&#8217;s and C turns up after spotting me through the window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My cousin wrote a little song about Il Douche. To the tune of <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/7GH8qNOm2gEKryVUyVzkmt?si=aa89789e38aa499b\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/7GH8qNOm2gEKryVUyVzkmt?si=aa89789e38aa499b\">&#8220;Delta Dawn&#8221; by &#8220;Tanya Tucker&#8221;:<\/a><br \/><blockquote>Diaper Don Diaper Don What&#8217;s the nappy you have on?<br \/>Could it be a life on burgers and french fries?<br \/>And did we hear you say you would rule the world your way&#8221;Delta Dawn&#8221; by &#8220;Tanya Tucker&#8221;:<br \/>With Elon Musk to help you spread your lies.<br \/>When he was a boy his daddy called him Dopey Don<br \/>The dumbest kid he&#8217;d ever set eyes upon<br \/>But now he sits in the White House pretending he&#8217;s a king<br \/>Expecting all the world to come and kiss his ring<br \/>Diaper Don, Diaper Don you sure are smelling strong<br \/>And the all pervasive pong is hard to bear<br \/>Your presence in the White House makes it stink just like a shitehouse<br \/>But one fine day you&#8217;ll be no longer there<br \/><\/blockquote><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The monthly tradition of going to the Oyster house, followed by a quiet drink at Spice Finch with C, some Pinot Grigio, and a free brownie from the lovely server.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MQIO lives! &#8212; I can&#8217;t explain this, but it was a work achievement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Javastation Lives! &#8212; this is a personal project that will get its own blog post because I&#8217;m surprisingly excited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At last, after wanting one for 48 years, I can now teleport off this planet. <br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/fatsquirrel.org\/oldfartsalmanac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/teleport.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"532\" class=\"wp-image-1624\" style=\"width: 150px; float:right; padding: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fatsquirrel.org\/oldfartsalmanac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/teleport.jpg\" alt=\"Me wearing my new Blake's 7 teleport bracelet\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fatsquirrel.org\/oldfartsalmanac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/teleport.jpg 500w, https:\/\/fatsquirrel.org\/oldfartsalmanac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/teleport-282x300.jpg 282w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Severance! I mean&#8230;Severance! <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nice domestic cosiness with the flock &#8211; and it seems Pepper sometimes practices talking in secret.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A nice Happy Friday at Milkboy with J (also Ax with her new London tattoo and experience of Spittalfields market).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Been listening to some great music ranging from <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/playlist\/63AoNfdevveMbVyzF9CL62?si=b0d47d422d6a4fbe\">classic Jungle<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/61Jl5ZMGSGyGHEAtHxyDtY?si=5f9be80291e04b37\">Angel Olsen<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/5lOdDLKrohljjaQPntbQ3w?si=2531d429b066478a\">Charlotte Gainsbourg<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/6YtmXlaoK5pktbxpf8Fiwu?si=d6dbac1ffcd64acb\">ambient stuff<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/6ubLkNovtzOSFKvG9e02pE?si=a4d8e89a5a934685\">Bob Vylan and Amy Taylor<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wordle, and Globle, and Connections discussions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Altoids arctic mints &#8211; peerless.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Posh lunches: Vernick fish and Dandelion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Come Dine and Apprentice (UK obv).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Philadelphia Orchestra at Kimmel &#8211; amazing all round.
